CLASSES AT PRANAVA YOGA STUDIO

Slow & Strong

Learning to listen to body through the marriage of breath and movement is the gift of a sustainable yoga practice. We take an integrated, balanced approach that focuses on pre-hab (preventing injuries and encouraging healthy movement through all stages of life). This session may intertwine mantra, pranayama, and strength building postures with slow transitions adaptive your body’s ability. The class is ideal for all levels of experience. Class size is limited for more personal experience.

 

* Pre-registration is required due to limited class size. No refunds or transfers to different dates. One session is transferable to a friend or family member, if you are unable to make a session for any reason. Class sizes are limited.

Steady & Gentle

Learning to listen to body through the marriage of breath and movement is the gift of a sustainable yoga practice. We take an integrated, balanced approach that focuses on pre-hab (preventing injuries and encouraging healthy movement through all stages of life). This session may intertwine mantra, pranayama, and gentle, long-held poses with slow transitions adaptive your body’s ability. We will finish with a restorative pose and a luxurious Savasana. The class is ideal for all levels of experience.

Restore & Nidra

A restorative yoga practice is one of receiving rest in order for us to build stores of energy. Experience luxuriously long held postures that are supported by props for your body’s needs and complete the practice with an extended Yoga Nidra. Yoga Nidra is a meditation that walks you through intention, a body scan, observation of sensations and enables the body to move through the subtlety of relaxation in supportive way.

 

2011 study on School Counsellors who utilized iRest Yoga Nidra Meditation:

"The study demonstrates that meditation lowers stress and fatigue levels among school counselors. Furthermore, this study was the first to examine the changes in fatigue and stress levels among school counselors after completion of a Yoga Nidra program. Because counselors often experience nervousness, time urgency, and feelings of being rushed, Yoga Nidra is a practical method for reducing stress for them."

Private Yoga Sessions

Do you have an injury or wish to prevent an injury? Melissa uses her extensive yoga therapy and somatic movement background to work with you to design the sequence you need to begin to heal from or prevent unwanted injuries. We'll work together to map out what your body needs and wants, work to develop flexibility and strength and learn a few key exercises that you can practice at home that will offer results for your body. We intertwine somatic movement, restorative, breathwork and more to find the most effective results for you long term. Whether you are new to yoga or an experienced practitioner, privates are a way to take progress quickly due to undivided attention to your needs. Package or individual sessions upon request. 75 minute sessions. Non refundable. Rescheduling 24 hours in advance required.  One session is transferable to a friend or family member, if you are unable to make a session for any reason.

Thai Yoga Massage

With over 10 years experience and training with some of the greatest Thai Massage Masters in the world, Melissa offers reverent sessions that are with the entire body in mind. Unwind and experience guided movement and therapeutic manual manipulation for everyBody. Thai Massage is on a comfortable mat on the floor, fully clothed with no oil or scents used. Each session is designed to meet your body’s specific needs or injuries. 75 minute sessions. Non refundable. Rescheduling 24 hours in advance required.  One session is transferable to a friend or family member, if you are unable to make a session for any reason.
