Annual Art, Nature & Yoga Retreat

in Santa Fe, New Mexico

With Melissa Smith-Wilkinson + Richard Wilkinson

To be Announced-- 2022

Nestled at the foot of the rugged Sangre de Cristo Mountains at 7200 feet in the New Mexican desert highlands, join us as we explore enchanting Santa Fe, “The City Different”.

About
Join Melissa and Richard for their daily vibrant, mindful slow flow classes.

Melissa’s offerings are both therapeutic and focus on building strength and flexility. Her classes will be a combination of slow, strong flow with modifications for injuries or sensitivity in the body, finishing with long held prop supported postures (restorative yoga).

"When you take a flower in your hand and really look at it, it's your world for the moment. I want to give that world to someone else. Most people in the city rush around so, they have no time to look at a flower. I want them to see it whether they want to or not.”

Georgia O’Keffee

Learn to listen to body through the marriage of breath and movement as we explore moving through postures with grace and strength. These sessions will intertwine mantra, pranayama, yoga postures and finish with restful postures.

Richard will be offering some asana practice as well as his signature yoga nidra meditations which are calming and balancing for the nervous system. The yoga will be suitable for anyone and combine slow, strength building mindful movement with yoga nidra.

We have carefully crafted an itinerary of the best of the best that Santa Fe has to offer. From exploring the awe inspiring landscapes of Ghost Ranch in nearby Abiquiu and an exclusive tour of Georgia O’Keeffe's private home and studio to an extraordinary walking tour of 5 star restaurants with a world-renowned Santa Fe Cooking School tour guide. An award winning Flamenco Dance Show to radical interactive experience at the renowned and mind boggling Meow Wolf which is backed by George RR Martin (scroll for more information on each itinerary item).
This retreat has every detail thought of- from your comfort in the casita to your preferences for how you like your coffee and tea. We cannot wait to share our favorite city gems with you. Book today to save your space. This retreat has a wait list and will sell out quickly!

The Yoga

We will explore both Rest and Renewal throughout the week. Shed the daily stress and enter into a week of movement, journaling, and reflections. Enjoy the therapeutic healing benefits of daily all levels classes that are accessible for every one.

Sessions may include mantras for exploring your voice, movement to revive the body, meditation to quiet the mind, and restorative poses to cultivate stillness. Each one will vary and possibly offer community discussions, some partner movement or postures, or quiet guided yoga nidra meditation.

Georgia O’Keeffe Museum

A tour of Georgia O’Keeffe’s historic adobe home and studio offers an experience of the environment in which she lived and worked. The house inspired more than two dozen paintings: a door through the patio wall attracted her attention on a daily basis and she painted it more than twenty times. Similarly, the cottonwood trees, growing in the Chama River Valley below her studio, were the subject of more than two dozen paintings.

This live feed is being captured by a video camera installed on the roof of Georgia O’Keeffe’s home in Abiquiu, documenting the changes in her garden. On Wednesdays and Fridays each summer, student interns work to plant, care for, and harvest vegetables that were originally grown by O’Keeffe.

"It was all so far away - there was quiet and an untouched feel to the country and I could work as I pleased.”

~ Georgia O'Keeffe

Ghost Ranch

Red canyons, majestic mesas and amazing skies.

Ghost Ranch is a 20,000-acre educational retreat operated by the Presbyterian Church an hour outside of Santa Fe. The drive from Santa Fe to Ghost Ranch is a marvel in and of itself. There’s really no way to describe it other than it's like combining the best of the American desert and the vistas of the Rocky Mountains.

We’ll enjoy a delicious boxed lunch meal on site, explore a hike (any experience level hike available) and an afternoon outdoor yoga nidra meditation session in our tranquil setting.

Dining at the charming Legal Tender in Lamy, New Mexico

Lamy is a tiny village founded in 1880 by the Atchison & Topeka Railroad 18 miles from Santa Fe. Lamy serves as Amtrak's Santa Fe station and was once home the Fred Harvey El Ortiz Hotel. The Legal Tender is Lamy's oldest and one of it's most beloved structures. Built in 1881 as a general store, with the Saloon added some time later, as well as the Americana Room. By 1953 the establishment went by the colorful name the Pink Garter. In 1970 it was remodeled and named The Legal Tender. In 1986 it was named to the National Register of Historic Places, then was donated to the Lamy Railroad and History Museum in 2006. Since then the museum has curated and  lovingly cared for the building and it's collection of antebellum art, railroad memorabilia and local artifacts. Where the pavement ends and the West begins. Check out the menu here  Meal included, drinks on your own.
